    Default D'arbonne, day 2

Got out again today. Fished the same area as yesterday and got do-do-squat. Until 9 that is then the bite started. They were biting funny today, two of the fish dragged the line side ways without moving the rod tip and I had a lot of pops at my baits but they wouldn't commit. Seemed they wanted shiners more than plastics. I ended up with 6, 4 being 1lb+ fish and biggest 1lb 8oz. At 11 the wind started blowing and it was like cockroaches scattering with all the boats leaving the lake. I chatted an old boy up at the launch and found out he was a Farmerville local and lived there before the lake was built. He gave me his 5 fish so we'll be having a good fish fry before I head for home next week. No pictures right now, maybe I'll add some later.

Glad to hear you got out and caught a few.. Funny how the bite changes in less then 24 hrs...hopefully you can get out again before you leave.. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

I wasted some time fishing slip bobbers and probably should have been spider rigging while the wind was light. When the wind started it was sudden, fishable to I need to get off the lake almost instant. Too bad, I was starting to catch some fish.

If you stop at Lesters (just down from the state campground and get a berger (their great) and go back across the bridge just to the right In the standing timber along n east of the deep channel I've down very well with live minnows as well as Keitech a red 1/8 oz jig head. Good luck and have fun !
May all the fish tales you catch be longer than the ones you tell !
