    Default Generator Advice?

Looking for advice on a good, dependable QUIET generator.....
I had a Onan years ago I really liked it was a 2500, I replaced it with a noisy undependable 4K Briggs and Stratton one I bought at Lowe’s about 16 years ago.
I often need a generator for the work I do and as we are hoping to do more camping it would do double duty so it needs to be QUIET. Power goes out at times so maybe triple duty....
I started looking at ones at TSC, Farm and Home and even heard Harbor Freight has a good one.
Since I don’t think they will fire up a floor model I thought I’d ask here if anyone has one or has researched into them.
I’m thinking something around 3500 would suit both needs.
    Thanks in advance.

No first hand experience but I've heard the Honda is quiet.

I acquired a small portable Ryobi, it seems pretty quiet.

It can also be connected to a second if more power is needed.

But I live in a noisy house, so an elderly couple who lives alone might not think it’s as quiet as I do........

In a word...Honda...but they are EXPENSIVE.
The ultimate set-up is a pair of 2200's. Easy to carry, can be paralleled to double output, needed for your 3500 requirement. Yamaha's are the same.
Did I mention expensive? BTW..thieves love them.

If you can believe the Harbor Freight comparison charts, theirs beats Hondas of similar size. For the money it's a no brainer. I can't attest to their longevity or reliability first hand, but I do own a number of power tools from HF and so far am pleased. FWIW.

Steve, we have a Yamaha 3000 starts 1st or 2nd pull. It runs everything in my 5th. Wheel. You can't hear it 20' away. Best one I ever had.

They also say with all the sensetive electronics nowdays you should run an inverter genny not the standard ones. Standard ones put out 'dirty' syne wave power that can cause issues.

Don is correct. They make a generator now that has that included. Pure sign is the term.

I second Yamaha but also Honda. On the cheaper side, Champion makes a long lasting unit (at least they did). They also make the units for BP, Cabelas, and probably several other rebrands. What I have seen though, the rebrands are more cheaply built than the actual champions. Plastic fuel shut off vice metal, plastic throttle vice metal, stuff like that.

Most now days have an efficiency mode too.

Never been around a Yamaha but I've been around a lot of generators. I use to bow fish, a lot. I've seen hundreds and hundreds of different ones.

The only one I've ever seen that's quiet is a Honda.
