    Default Another hot one

Had the chance to get out with Michelle today..we both had the same day off and decided to brave the heat. Being the weekend decided to hit the river to avoid all the pleasure boaters. Threw plastics around structure with no success. Decided to throw some meat under a float and we both caught some nice small mouth and I stuck a carp...all and all a good day on the river. I think it was warmer then Friday's trip with Jerry. Thank God it was Michelle with me today. I don't think I could have taken the sight of Sasquatch in his underoos...Name: IMG_20180701_105904800.jpeg

I miss wading in the river and fishing in heat like this. I could always find the trout.

What, no photos of Michelle? She is WAY more photogenic than you! Nice whistle trout though.

I spent all day on the tractor. Started with the bean planter for the neighbor, then to the brush hog. Cut a few paths at my place through 5 foot grass, mowed the alfalfa and clover, then on to the tiller to get my last two plots worked up.

Finished it off by planting, packing, and dragging. This is the earliest I've ever gotten them all in. Even got sunflowers in.

I don't wear shorts often. Today I did. I thought the dirt covered my upper legs good. Nope, still got burnt.

As a good service announcement, I carry a softsided cooler on the tractor. In it I have 2 frozen 20oz bottles of water, 3 12 oz bottles of electrolytes, and 3 bottles of water. As the ice melts, I drink the water and fill the bottle. I always have cold water!

One thing I learned in the Marines was how to stay cool and hydrated. Another tip is to have a towel on your neck. Those cold towels are no different than a good old dish towel with one exception. Air gets through the cold towel which keeps you cool. The key is to have it on your caroted artery. I'm not afraid of heat, I just don't like it!

Fishing.....what’s that! Now working I got plenty to talk about that, but being out in the heat and then going inside a house with no AC just a small box fan , has made this a very long week. I have some time off next week maybe then I can get some boat time????

That is an ugly fish Jeff. Glad y'all got to spend a day together. Was 95 here today. So we just went and ate fish at a restaurant. On the Tennessee river.

    Kev, no AC?

I've been watching the weather, trying to find a day where I don't burn up because it is hotter than the face of the sun! I thought of going tomorrow but those predicted E winds always bother me. Sure, they say 6knts but we all know how that goes. Unfortunately, the local lakes are not much better. Because of the heat, they are PACKED with people.

We could always make a run up to Houghton lake! Little friendly walleye competition? Steve said he is looking for a place to go. Aaron might be in (if G hasn't banned him off the site yet)! Who knows, I might even be able to get my dad to take his shiny boat out of the garage and actually put it in the water for once! I've tried to sell it 4 times already (along with mine). I figured, WE "might" be able to purchase something BIGGER!
