This will be the year for high 30 and low 40 pound fish. Last year was good but this age class is better. Not the numbers of the past but high quality fish.

    Steve,

As a side note, I have been making some modifications to my Salmon tackle. When you were with me, I was testing whole Herring concept, and having issue with them disintegrating. We also has a tangle's from the Slide Divers.
Things have changed a bit, as I don't run that pattern any longer, of riggers, and 2 Divers a side, as I have added Planer Boards, and run Lead-core. I layman's terms that means we spend more time fishing, and less time untangling.....

I was testing the Offshore SST board with a Silver Horde's Sam's Pro Release. Kevin snapped the line on that trying to release it, when the line broke. After the shocked look on Kevin's face, What was funnier was, Kevin thought I was SMART when I devised a plan to grab the board, use some Pollock Power, and re-spool 5 color LeadCore right on the boat, and continue fishing, without a mess. The puppy dog look of AWE, was funny, (Actually it was probably more like a HTH Did that Pollack do that, and THINK of that all by himself?)

I modified the Off Shore SST board's last night, with a Blacks OutRigger Release, so they Planer Boards have the same release as my Downriggers, and should work as expected, just need to test.

I have replaced some of my Spoons with single Siwash hooks as well, as the 3/0 Trebles have been sliding through the mouth, without hooking anything due to undersized hooks in my opinion. My hook up ratio with the standard trebles was 3/9, this year so far. My Single Siwash hooks are 4/4. I will continue to see how they work, an keep track.
The only fish I have lost since my changes were on the J Plug that Kevin FORGOT to set the hook. I so wish I could show the Video, but G would very VERY un-pleased with me. But its not me who says the naughty stuff, I just said "OOPS" after Kevin said ______ In Kevin's defense, it was a huge fish, it took line like crazy, I would have like to have seen that fish.

I have 5/0 & 6/0 Trebles on order to test as well.

Our 2 biggest fish came on meat rigs, so I need to get some meat ordered next week, and delivered. Should be ready to Rock & Roll for more Salmon after that if you are interested.

I can try and get you on some Franken Crappie again. We just need the Lake to cooperate now.

    OE
