    Default Tidal Potomac fishing trip

I got a chance to fish the Tidal Potomac river last Monday and Tuesday.
We were targeting smallmouth and largemouth bass.
But lo and behold, mr. crappie decided to join the party! They were in full black tuxedo regalia.
We were fishing 2.5" tubes on the bottom, fishing wacky style with 4.25" Case Magic Stiks, and throwing the Zipper grub on a small jig head.
What a great place to fish!
The Pentagon and Washington Monument is in some of the pics.

Dang, when you post you go big. Those are some NICE fish! Probably can't use leeches for bait in D.C. or there wouldn't be any politicians left.
The older I get the more I realize the therapeutic benefits of fishing

I used to live not far from there on the river (Quantico). Ran by it daily and always wished to fish it. In that time, my schedule was made for me. HQ Marine Corps, small arms instructor school, and the FBI academy are all on that base along with HMX1 (the president's helicopter). Lots has changed in 20 some odd years.
