Yes. That is what I have been using in inland lakes for crappie and walleye.

Abby: No, he is only a spike. He will be bigger next year or the year after. Besides, I'm not going to shoot him just to get a deer.
What do you say to that? It does help when you have a couple hundred photos of 4 different bucks scoring over 130 inches though!
So far she has passed on 5 deer. Whatever it is that I have, she surely got IT too! She gets it. When your child can quote ethics, management, and the understanding that, when hunting hot weather, you tend to pass deer for bigger ones. If you have to rush the heat to cool the meat, it might as well be worth it.

Well Erin, you have a couple more hours as I post this to bask in the glory of being last years Designated Internet Crappie King as you and I brought in a 2 man limit a year ago today
You slightly edging out me to gain your crown. I gladly accepted the title of 2017 guide of the year showing you where to catch them.
So here we are a year later and now I carry that crown, slightly altered having Yooper roots. The title is now Designated Internet Crappie King Yooper, Jeff being the captain of the boat and putting us on the fish is now the owner of the 2018 guide of the year.
Rest easy my polish friend and enjoy your past accolades as the first, #1 Designated Internet Crappie King.

Steve in less that two years, has came from (I have never caught a Crappie @ Crappie Camp, and didn't bring a knife), to (2018 Designated Internet Crappie King Yooper)
Alas, I have been de-throned, cast out, demoted, castrated from ROYALTY. Call it what you will, in reality its my ascension into CRAPPIE LEGEND.
From high above on Mount Crappie, I will sit on my Crappie throne, and look down upon Steve, Like Zeus upon Apollo, and marvel at my progeny and future Legend..........
