Yea I couldn’t take sitting at home thinking about most of my buddies out on the bay catching walleye, so when I finally woke up around 930ish this morning I called old uncle AL, he got clearance with the boss and so did I. And so the plan was set, we got to Linwood about 330pm , lines in the water a little after 4. The bite took off quick, the first 5 fish came before we had all lines set, then we slowly picked away as the wind died off and so did the bite. We marked tons of fish, lots of bait. Most of the fish came on flicker minnows 9, 7 , 5 , running from 65 - 120 back. 65 caught fish early and 90 and 120 late. The #5 &#7 I ran 30’ back, clip on 2oz weight then 25’back for 20’ down. The jet divers and spoons picked up most of the shorts. We even picked up a jumbo perch, no junk fish and several shorts. We finished with 12

Looks like the walleye bite is hot. Lots of fun, even if it's trash fish.

Aaron, that mob on the Saginaw River looks like no fun to me. Call me anti social but crowds of idiots don't turn me on. I'll take sitting on the deck grilling pork loin and frying fish any day. And playing with the grand baby. Here she is in her July 4th outfit.Name: IMG-20180704-WA0001.jpg

I don’t care much for crowds either but it is cool to watch fireworks while in your boat, we’ve done it a couple times.
I had a great time fishing with Rich and Brian yesterday, first time fishing with Brian....and got a rare photo of Rich with fish in hand. While quickly posing for this picture he had another Walleye on.

That was my complaint when I paid my ticket, this is a boat launch parking lot and 5 spaces were taken up by vehicles with no trailer attached, taking up a space I need to park my truck AND BOAT TRAILER!

Made no difference, paid my $75.00

Fishing was all over the board yesterday. Some limits but a lot of mixed results across the entire bay. Different programs yielded different results.

Ralph and Joe ran spoons and caught 8. Some running meat had similar results. The problem a lot of times is heavy boat traffic in confined areas. Fish "might" be in 13 fow but it don't take many boats to scatter them.

A good tip. If you see huge numbers of boats in shallow areas, setup outside of them. Maybe 1/2 mile or more. You might look like you don't know what you are doing however, those fish will push out to deeper water and you will catch fish while others are trying to figure out what happened.

Start with long passes. When you catch multiple fish, pound that area. Both Tuesday and yesterday, we keyed on two tiny areas. Oftentimes picking up 2 or 3 per run through that spot.

When baits die, don't be afraid to change colors. Letting a previous hot bait ride to long because it once caught fish is never a good thing.

One last thing, watch previous weather reports. High winds from the Northerly sector for several days push bait fish to the other side of the bay. Along with it go the fish. We marked tons of bait yesterday.

8 more in 2.5 hours on the water this morning.

All on Flickers & WITH the wind.

Against was to rough, and the crew I was with, Wife & Gramps causes more tangles than I have ever seen.

Regardless, was a great time, called it a morning, wife caught her first Walleye.

Came in, relaxing and look to go back out his evening.
