    Jerry, Yes,
    Rich Yes,
    Me, Oh Yeah, Yes,

    Steve, NO.........

Its a State DNR Launch, if you have your sticker or on your plate Tab, you are good to go same as any State Park.

    P.S. Watch for floating chunks.

    Found it,

This was from 2015, I have since changed a bit, and go to Snug Harbor exclusively. Mostly because I don't want to pay to park, and I am usually headed over to channel, Sand Docks, or Lake Mi.

    From 2015.

I made it a point to try all of them last year. I do not know all the names but I do have my favorites now. They are Fisherman's Landing & The State Park on the North side.

    Personal State Park Pro's
    Fish Cleaning/Bathrooms/Shade
    Family Friendly

    Personal State Park Con's
25-35 minutes longer to arrive than Fisherman's Landing.
Not lit up well at night.

    Personal Mixed Extras
2 Docks, so 4 locations to launch and retrieve.
State Park on the North side for all the above mentioned reasons.
Additionally, there are "Shaded" areas, for a nap after fishing as well.
Access to Lake Michigan is quick, since you are right next to the channel.
Entry fee only $10.00 That is already on your vehicle plate if you got that stamp. Is not well lit at dark, in my opinion.

    Fisherman's Landing Pro's
Fish Cleaning/Bathrooms. Easy access to and from the highway.
    Well Lit at night

    Fisherman Landing Con's
Not cost effective, its a $10.00 fee to launch, unless you buy the annual pass which is about $55.00.
No shade, no place to nap.
    Not Family Friendly

    Personal Mixed Extras
4 Docks, 8 total slots to launch, the one farthest east is usually weedy and not used, but can be if needed.

The launch by the Millwalkee Clipper is next to "Shoreline Service Bait"
They have a slelcetion of lures, bait, etc. Usually pretty good with knowledge of previous few days. If you need guidance, stop in and ask.
basic launch, not much, no fish cleaning, no shade, Only thing going for it is the Bait Shop.

So which do I use most? Depends on what I am doing.

If its a "Hey I got a chance to go fishing", its FL, as it cuts down on drive time, and saves me upwards of an hour drive time both ways from the State Park from the highway split point.

If its a planned trip, with Family, I go to the State Park, pack coolers, chairs, park for a shaded afternoon etc.

I don’t think in all the reviews I’ve ever read on anything that a nap place was a consideration.

    This review gets 5 stars

    Jerry,

The sand docks were used years and years ago. There are still some pier columns in the water but it is long since gone away. They loaded and offloaded tons of stuff there.

Another popular spot is the red buoy out from the sand docks as well as the mouth of bear creek which is east across the lake.

Tomorrow calls for high East winds. Sunday isn't much better. Rain next week. Craps on my plans.

Snug is nice because of the bait shop location however, there is a gas station out off the Freeway that usually has better bait. Can't remember the name but they have wigglers when snug doesn't. That is the bait of choice over minnows most days.

Thanks for all the info, you too Aaron. I try to buy my speck minnows from the old boy in Lyons. Since they took the dam out his business is down a bunch so I try to steer business his way. Plus, his minnows are better than other places. Bigger, livelier and last longer. His crawlers are packed in paper bedding and his prices are fair. A little out of the way at times but it's worth it.

I got a call from my oldest daughter today, the one that lives in Atlanta. Today is her due date so I was thinking it would be the " I'm in labor" call. Close, it was the "I'm having the baby on Monday by c-section" call. This is their (and my ) first and the doctors are guessing the babies weight about the same as my biggest walleye, just a whisker shy of ten pounds. They might be in Michigan the weekend of crappie camp and, if they are, might make a stop in to see the gang. All good news.

Thanks, Steve. Very funny, Jeff. Told my daughter I wasn't going to trim my beard till the baby has a chance to pull on it.
