Yes I am alive, lots going on in life, However, this was TOO GOOD TO NOT SHARE. This is like BAIT for Jerry, but still worth it.


So last night I got an opportunity to go Bow Hunting and relieve some life stress. To remove some of that stress, I filled a tag with a average size Doe.

The usual, field dress, the long drag to truck. Well, I'm getting old because the drag took allot longer than expected, and took allot of energy. Get home, skin it, take out the inside loins, and have loins and eggs for dinner.

So I go to bed, I'm 100% asleep UNTIL, I have this weird donkey dream that Steve is standing in my bedroom looking at me.
I instantly wake up, freaked out, sat up, and reality set in, the soreness of the drag to the truck was going through every muscle in my body. My alarm from 7:15 is going off, and its 8:40.

I look to where in my dream, (well maybe a nightmare actually) Steve was standing and what do I see? My Engel hat staring at me...................




Every muscle in my body it saying "Sit on the couch and watch hunting and fishing shows........

However, time to start cutting up some Venison, and make things ready for some Jerky. Maybe go back out tonight since the cold front came in.....

Yikes. I hope I don't have that dream next week in Louisiana. At least it was just a hat.

I was up early this morning and made 25 pounds of venison summer sausage. It's stuffed and resting in the fridge until this afternoon then in the oven at 180 til it reaches 165.

Well, in less than 24 hours we'll be on the road, heading to the Louisiana C.C D'arbonne camp. We should be pulling into Farmerville, La. mid morning on Thursday and hope to be able to fish Thursday afternoon, Friday all day and Saturday till mid afternoon. We are going to be able to meet most of the Louisiana legends and see some old friends. You need to check out the food list and see the feast we're in for. Pictures and video sure to follow. Thanks to all that donated rods and reels for the kids. We ended up with quite a bunch and will surely make some young 'uns very happy.

You guys be careful and drive safe.

By now, Jeff has said 3 words! Steve is figuring out how to go pro, and they are on their 3rd air freshener for the truck.
