All you need to ask him is if he would accept that at his house. Hard to tell from the pics but it looks pretty bad.

I have to baby sit this morning while my daughter gets her hair cut. Hopefully Isla doesn't sleep the whole time. I like the holding and the feeding and the grandpa-ing. My job cancelled at the last minute so I have to scramble to get something lined up. I have a guy in Holt that has a leaky sewer line so I'll probably go fix that then head to Stockbridge to stake out a deck.

    Steve,
I think you are right on point. He subbed it out to someone else. Especially if you used him in the past. Looks to me like the concrete he was using setup to quick OR, he didn't have enough going at one time. She sagged quite a bit.

Time for a jackhammer, a wheel borrow, and a do-over on that one. IF he did have someone else do it, I'll bet he never even went out and looked at it! OR, if he did, and he was okay with it, I would NOT be calling him back again.

Went back and looked at the photos. The main entry stairs looks like his form boards are warped! I can see the dip in two of the stairs. Also, same thing with the other stairs, the bottom stair is flared at the edges.

I don't think the form or screed boards were setup properly from the start. Crappy forms, obviously bad screed jobs (especially on the bottom two stairs). He was also adding concrete after the fact as evident by the multiple colors and flaking. I don't think the person really knew what they were doing when setting it up.

You know, we sub crap like this out NOT because we can't do it, it is because we don't WANT to do it!

I had the discussion and that’s exactly what happened.....he did all the flatwork, then had Jose do the stairs. He kinda didn’t want to admit the truth but when I said it just didn’t look like his work......he came clean.

He said he would make it right.....I’ll take him at his word.

    You’re doing great Aaron.

And you’re putting in a lot of time doing it.

It is all about learning. You can listen to someone tell you how to do it, watch someone do it, and assist with doing it however, nothing compares to real world experience. You are going out ever day and catching fish! The learning is happeneing and every time you are building your knowledge base for the next trip. Good job!

Will have allot of questions, I’ll post them in the Walleye thread later.

Just got up from a nap, getting ready to start dinner in an hour or so.

Don’t know what’s wrong, woke up 6:11am without an alarm.

I know the feeling, I had the same thing happen to me just north of the toll booth of the Mackinaw Bridge pulling a 19’ Chris Craft 30 years ago.

Moral? Make sure to inspect all tie downs.

I’ll also bet it was a roller trailer.
