You have to go by forecast if you don't want to waste a 5 hours round trip if the weather is as predicted. It's still early, we'll get them next week.

I ran the gauntlet of weather today. Pouring rain in Petoskey at 6am. Just North of Pellston was pouring rain AND heavy snow. Never seen that before. Just above the bridge, white out. On station 30 minutes and 1 inch of snow on my work truck.
I75 not plowed on the way back. Over turned vehicles. 55mph. St Ignace turned to rain. High wind advisory, freezing rain, and fog at the bridge. Just got across before the potential shutdown.
Pouring rain to Alpena, overcast to East Tawas, then sun and the window down at 58 degrees headed to West Branch.
In Houghton Lake for the night but the project is done.
Lake Cadillac and Mitchell are wide open as well as Houghton Lake. Everything North of Higgins still has ice. Calling for up to 2 feet of snow in the Soo and between 10 to 18 inches above M72 this weekend. If the wind continues to push the cold air down. Glad I powered through it all to get done.
Time for you to relax and FISH

Rich, I should have warned you about snow in the UP, my niece sent pictures yesterday morning of it snowing yet again, in Esky!
I lived UP there 22 years and I can not remember winter ever dragging out this long, Mid April was always the benchmark for perch fishing on Garden Bay.....last report they are still driving pick up trucks across the bay.......must be all that Global Warming going on.
I did enjoy t-shirt and 70 degrees for a little while yesterday.
