Good morning, all. Been a nice but busy trip so far. Saturday I tore down some drywall in a three seasons room that has a small water leak. Bleached the moldy spots and will leave it open till I come back down in May. Next was tearing up some 2x8 deck boards that had started to rot. Made my daughter and son-in-law lasagna and garlic toast for dinner. Had some baby time in there, too. Yesterday I sent my SIL to Home Depot for lumber while I finished preping the deck for the new boards. About noon I fired up the smoker and put in two racks of baby backs that had marinated overnight. Three hours of hickory smoke while I was finishing the deck then into the oven, wrapped tight in foil with a dry rub, for another hour. Paired it up with sweet potatoes and home made applesauce from my tree. Excellent Easter dinner. Today was bacon, sausage and eggs for breakfast then it's up onto the roof to fix the water leak and porterhouse steaks for dinner. Gonna try to get a baby and grandpa picture today. Stay tuned. Oh, the weather is mid 70's, sunny with a slight breeze.

Between my work load, the babys eating schedule and her parents being baby hogs, there hasn't been a good time to set up the perfect picture. You guys deserve nothing but the best and, darn it, you're going to get it.
Her name is Isla Jean Greenman. The "s" is silent but little Isla Jean isn't. That kid has a set of pipes. I slept with a radio on last night so my dad (grandpa?) ears wouldn't pick up the crying. Slept till 7:15, too so it must have worked. Their at the first Drs. appointment so by the time they get back, my work should be done and we can get the picture taken.

First morning back in Michigan and it's 24 degrees and snow in the forecast. This stuff is not funny. Started the wood stove last night and it sure feels good while I'm drinking my coffee and watching the local news. Not sure what I'm gonna do today, I have some pole barn steel to put on, a deck to stake out and a roof to shingle but for now I think I'll have another cup and enjoy the wood heat.
