    Default I went fishing... Yay!!!

After having not fished most the summer, we finally got some time in out on the boat.
We went to the Newaygo chain of lakes. Which includes Pickerel, Kimball, Emerald, and Sylvan.
We haven't been on these pickerel/kimball since I was a little fella, and never been on the back two.
The only public boat launc for all four lakes is on Pickerel. To get to the other lakes you have to wind through a canal and through a series of culverts.
We intended to focus on Kimball, because word on the street was the crappie were hungry over there and we're all running good size.

We didn't catch record numbers, but we caught fish. Through the day we caught Crappie, Bass, Perch, and Pike. We were on the water for 10 hrs straight.

Emerald lake had some really cool structure. Looked like an old dock and the deck of an old barge sunk in the water. That was cool to explore.

and we finished up the adventure with a bald eagle following us out the canal.

    Here fishy, fishy, fishy...

Nice pics and a decent mess of crappie. That one Andrea is holding is a good fish for up here. All good eaters for sure.

Looks like it's a tight fit through some of those culverts! Did you drag bottom too?
