Doesn’t a transom saver do the same thing?

The motor transom saver does not keep the motor from swinging to the side. I don't think it would really hurt anything, however, I just wanted to keep it straight.

The transom saver does not keep the motor from laying over to one side. I don't think it would hurt anything but I just wanted it to be straight.

Consider the "Motor Mate". I bought mine in 2018, I find no flaw in it's design, motor is straight and solid, no way to fall out, easy on and off. All kinds of colors and sizes.
To folks using the old transom savers that go from the trailer to the motor, you should chain those to the trailer so when they bounce and fall out, you can drag it the rest of the way to where you are going!
Quick on and off, plenty of videos on it, light and easy to stow away. Plus, plus, plus!
