Did the work on the engine include the foot being removed? If so, the trim tab may be turned to one side or the other. If you take your hand off the wheel at full power, does the steering go quickly to that side?

Need advice:
I recently had transom work done on my 2008 bass buggy pontoon boat. The motor had to be removed for the work; then reinstalled. Took the boat to the lake; steering works fine on the ramp and at low speed. However, at full throttle, it becomes nearly impossible to turn. Any ideas?

The motor may be kicked in too far do you have power trim? If not there should be a rod holding the engine out away from the transom move that out a hole or to and try again.
Hydraulic or cable steering?
There is at least one Youtube video explaining how to force gear lube inside the jacket. If you try this and it doesn't help it is replacement time.
