Default Got Some Work To Do

Sometimes, you just need to catch a break. So, A while back I bought this Ebbtide Dyna-Trak 160 and brought it home. Then A battery got stole. I had to move it to a storage site. I wanted to raise the bunks up a bit, as at it's current height the motor skeg rests on the ground when on the trailer and in the vertical position. Well evidently, the lower seal was bad and water was in the lower unit. With momma's heart surgery, I didn't get a chance to check it/drain it before this big freeze. You got it, I now get to replace the lower unit...Now to find one for a 1973 Evinrude 65 HP Triumph...Just need a break. As soon as the weather breaks, I get to start on it...Will keep a running tab on it's progress. Oh yea, Momma dun named it too!!! Make sure you don't confuse the wording, please...My Dam Boat, as in dam on the lake...

Thank you Buckeye. Merry Christmas to you and your family as well. I found the lower unit I need, and the man will hold it till I can get it first of Feb. This lower unit is a Hydro-shift unit, not too common and not cheap either. Will most probably need going through when I get it, before the install. I've been utilizing all the quite time (momma resting/healing), to scour youtube for any and all info I can find...While I'm waiting on the lower unit, I hope to replace the floatation foam and lower floor, go through everything that I can, I want this thing up and going come Missouri's Spring Fling get together in May...Of coarse their will be a couple shake down fishing trips before then...Merry Christmas to you all, Hope it's a good one, and thank you again.

Missouri Crappie.Com get together every year at Bucksaw Marina and Campgrounds. First weekend in May. Most everyone reserves a site on loop A. Friday evening is like potluck and Saturday is fishfry...from what I understand. Trying to get to my first one this year. Hopefully I'll have better luck than the last couple years when unfortunately something has came up last minute and I wasn't able to go...Sure praying I make it this year.

there is a person on iboats who was telling me my motor can be changed to a mechanical shift by buying a late '75- to '88 mechanical shift lower unit, shift linkage, and the block shift lever. but If this has been done, I sure can't find reference to it anywhere...

Well heck, Just got a message from the man with the lower unit. Said someone offered twice what he was going to sell to me for and it's gone, so I'm back at square one. I'll get some money put back and then find me a lower unit...
