    Default What size Lithium battery?

I am currently running 2 group 27 lead acid deep cycles in parallel for a 55lbs 12volt Terrova. Current batteries are 80 AH each. What size Lithium deep cycle to maintain
    current trolling capacity?

That's a tough call. Check with Andrew at IONIC LITHIUM BATTERIES FOR BASS BOATS - Drewcraft LLC. He will ask all the right questions and tell you what size you'll need.

According to what I've read, it depends on how high a setting and how long you run the trolling motor at that setting. The thing about lithium batteries is they run full out until they stop .... unlike lead acid batteries which put out less power as they get down in power (AH) left. Or, that's my understanding, anyway.

Since the Terrova has a max draw of 46amps ... a 100ah Lithium can run it WOT for 2 hrs. Think I also read that it's recommended to have 8ga twisted wire cables & a 60a manual reset breaker for that size Lithium battery.

I have 8 gauge wire already in the boat. Not twisted to my knowledge that may pose a problem unless I move the battery to the front deck compartments. What I have read seems to be all over the place.

I would get the Garmin TM and keep using the cheap batteries.
Maybe they will bite this one……

Not to hijack but I can tell you from experience that the Ulterra will stop deploy before the lithium give up, does not like something, you can trip up and down and run fine, but if you ever stow done for the day.... not a pleasant day on a river system 10,000 cfs

I am really interested in the weight reduction that the lithium batteries will give me. A diet plan for the boat if you will

No Ulterra here yet. Maybe next time. The Terrova has done well for me so far
