Default Do you think my battery is bad?

My trolling motor battery is two years old. The other day I was out for only about 4 hours. When I came home and put it on the charger it said only 10%. I charged it up fully and took it to the auto shop and had it tested and they said it was good and fully charged. It's been 4 days and it's now showing 80% and it's just been sitting there not hooked up to anything.

Doesn't sound bad. It could have electrolyte across the top of the casing causing it to discharge across the top.

Charge it up, wait 24 hours, and then check the voltage. Anything less than 12.6, battery is going bad.

What are you using to test it? Every battery is slightly different, some will rest at 12.5, some 12.4, some 12.6 etc. It doesn't necessarily mean it is BAD, it just could be a little on the weaker side.

What type of battery is it? If it is a flooded wet cell lead, CAREFULLY pry off the caps on top and make sure there is enough water in it. Shouldn't be full to the top but have equal water in all the cells and the level be right at the vent when fully charged. Wear goggles/glasses when you pry that cap off, acid to the eye is nothing to play with. Use distilled water

i was always taught to but a non conductive material like a board or rubber mat before leaving leaving a battery on concreate , seems concreate draws a battery down ?

No commercially available battery has a resting full charge voltage less than 12.65V.

It "used to" happen, but that was way back in the past.
