Hey, I know what you mean..
Last week I opened my water bill and water use was five times the usual. No visible leak anywhere, pressure loss was very little from normal. I probed the yard, leak was in the main supply line to the house. Lot of things going on, so I called an old buddy with a plumbing company. He just sold the company, I called them for an estimate. House supply line goes under concrete driveway and sidewalk. Man comes out, draws it up on His tablet, tells me "Forty four fifty, plus utility locater that's three fifty the first hour, and two hundred every hour after that". I said "EXCUSE ME - WHAT???".
Sent them on their way, fixed myself for under $100.00. Ran pex from meter to house on the ground for temporary, buried the next day, fixed it myself in two days.
Life has a way of challenging us, doesn't it?
I do most of my own work as well. That was ome steep price on that. Saved a bunch fixing ot yourself
Yes, but it took away 2 full days that I had other plans for!
The cost of everything just seems to keep going up - up - up.
Filled up my boat recently, 22 gallons = $60.00.
Gettin' me to thinkin' back when old timers fished in a john boat with one arm, and slow paddled with the other arm, and the lit camel stayed in their mouth with a long row of ashes and smoke directly in one eye.
And they enjoyed it...
$50 to fill up this Tacoma. When it is down to 1/4 tank. That Mercury 60 efi on that little Tracker sips fuel. I am thankful. Then fellas could flat nove that boat with a sculling paddle as the called it
Don’t feel bad Fur your in good company.
Same s*** happens to me, sometimes.
Hope your shoulder is coming along!
