Lithium Batteries?

An electrical engineer told me that we should get rid of the old chargers, even if they just look old, move 'em out. Our batteries today need the smart charging technology to give us the best performance and longest life that they can.
I still have an old Silver Beauty charger that will boil a battery like crazy, but it's just a keep sake.

Yeah, I have an old Shumacher 10amp charger that I used back in the day to charge up my batteries .... and it would definitely boil a battery dry if left on too long.

My current Minn-Kota 220 would likely do the same, as it's not digital, but I don't leave it running any longer than it takes to get green lights all around. Even when the boat is put up for the Winter, I just charge them back up once a month. So far that's kept my batteries in good shape for the last 3-5yrs. But if it ever craps out on me .... I'll get a digital smart charger, for sure.

Got my battery today. Right on the side it says, Do Not Charge when temps are below 30 degrees. Gonna have to figure out a work around on that one. I fish all winter long.

Using the app I have never seen my batteries under 38 degrees. Simple solution is to put a heating pad by the battery for about an hour before you charge it.

Forgot to add some people will turn their graphs on while they are getting ready to launch. Pulling power from the battery warms it up.

Lithiums can be used at freezing temps and below, they aren't supposed to be charged at those temps.

May have to keep a heat mat on them in the winter
