    Perhaps some kind of an adjustable hydrafoil, up and out of the way when you don't need it, down when in book mode.
    Then of course there would be the weight distribution thing to address.
    And prop angle.
    Interesting...

    I once owned a 19’ Grumman aluminum square stern canoe with a 5 hp Merc short shaft on it for Canadian and river fishing…and yes,,it would plane….it ran like a banchee maybe 15 mph or more,,,,had to watch turning too sharply as you might flip it. It was rated For 5 hp.
