Would like to see pictures. I think we have ALL hit a stump or ground or something with our TMs over time!

this pc i made will fit the endura types and maybe more, not sure i only have this one model, one thing to keep in mind if you need to use reverse you have to take the pc out or if you are strong enough to hold it.Click image for larger version.

Be hard to hold. That motor has a lot of leverage against where you would be holding it.

Broke the bow out of a plastic bass buggy when I hit a stump with the trolling motor. Had to warp my feet around the mount and push the top part of the motor away from me to secure it to the boat enough to get back to the ramp. That was a chore. It was only a 30 pound thrust motor.

He's not "holding it". The force of the motor pushing the boat forward keeps the shaft pressed towards the transom. He is just bypassing the "tilt" lock.
I run my tiller outboard the same way. I leave the tilt lock "unlocked" so that if I hit something it will allow the OB to raise up and go over the object.

In your instance (on the bow) this would not work as the bracket is backwards and the motor is constantly pulling against the tilt lock in that instant. Will only work on a transom mount when mounted on the transom.

I understand. He was talking about having to do something while in reverse which would cause the trolling motor to swing up if not held down. Same as the way we ran smaller outboard unlacted so they could kick up if you hit something. Reverse said unlatched outboard and it would swing up on ya

Running that little trolling motor (with a shaft that likely sticks up as far as it does down) in reverse should be simple compared to a tiller outboard. You aren't even holding it, just pushing the top rearward.
