I have a similar system in my 40lb thrust transom Motor Guide. I have not done any specific tests but the battery charge life is noticeably longer. For fair comparison, here is my set up. 12ft jon boat with 2 adults and lots of equipment. Primary fishing style is trolling. A typical day on the water is 9 hours. I use the trolling motor so much that I removed the outboard. I carry 2 group 24 deep cycles. I rarely need the 2nd one but occasionally if the wind is strong. Hope this at least helps a little.
