May be difficult to get it registered without a number. There is a process to get a number issused. May make for some bargaining room on the price

I have a 1967 Ouachita Jon Boat that has no HIN. Here in Kentucky the County Clerk just put NONE under the HIN Number space. I think they made provisions for older boats with no HIN.Originally Posted by DockShootinJack

That is good. I was told I had to have a number issued when I had bought a boat without one. Circumstances changed for me shortly after I had bought it. I parted with it without getting a number and registering it

Here in FL I needed to have a bill of sale stating that the hull was made before 1971 as hulls after that had an assigned hin. If that wasn’t found then it had to be inspected by the FWC and established that it had no hull number by one of their officers. I asked 2 FWC officers about this and neither of them had any idea what I was talking about. Dead end, stonewall. Luckily I could get a bill of sale with the needed info and the process went somewhat smooth. If you get a bill of sale to get this registered, be sure of the date of manufacture is 1970 or older, if your state is anything like mine. Good luck with it.
