Glad to see it went well, that can be smoothed over without a doubt.
I recommend a 120 grit flap disc to begin with, Harbor Freight has them cheap. They leave a mirror like finish on my mower blades when I sharpen with them, without taking too much metal. A lower grit may take off too much, as mentioned.
