Mine was a glass boat but I just wanted to give what input I had from experience. Both props were 25 pitch. One a cupped laser II and the other a standard quicksilver. The quicksilver ran out ok but was more sensitive to trim and turned just a few more rpm. The laser had a good hole shot, better bow lift and better turning. Like it had a better bite. The quicksilver became the backup prop I never used and I became a believer in turning the edge to add a little more cup, which is what a shop told me had been done to it. Also, mine would throw a big rooster tail and while it’s fun, it can cause problems and didn’t add speed. It actually dropped a few mph. When mine ran best was wot and trimmed to where the rooster tail was no higher than the top of the motor cover. Recommended rpm was 5500 and that’s what it ran, sometimes 200 more in a choppier surface that added more air to the bite of the prop. Mine had a stingray hydrofoil when I bought it and you could feel when it broke the surface by trimming up too high. Hole shot was bad without it. I’ll be quiet now.

Skeetbum you can have the gavel or hijack my thread anytime. A little more information....I thought I was sitting higher than I was.... motor had actually slipped on the jack....I raised it a quarter of an inch higher than it has ever been....redid the impeller and I do have a working water pressure gauge... Gonna scald the dog with it tomorrow or the next day and see what I changed. I ain't looking for more speed just more solid lift ... gonna move the TM batteries up front when the fish quit biting. LoL

It was some better after I raised it some. Its amazing how much power is left. WOT and 5K with a little trim. Go to trim up some more and boat accelerates like a jet plane and nose comes up then falls and starts bouncing

Yesterday I moved both TM batteries with a new MK 2 bank changer to the front compartment. Probably close to a 150 lbs total. I hope to get to test drive it today.

I ran it from Cowford campground to limestone Creek. Probably 10 miles one way. It come out of the hole better. Top end was 36. I did allow me get some higher before the porpoise. I was really impressed with how it quitened the chop. Over all I'm very happy with it. It was some daddy/daughter time and I let her drive most of the time. She's 14 going on 21 and studying for her boaters test.

Did it improve or slow down your top end speed?

Funny story on that. I knew I hadn't checked my oil resovior in while but I didn't think it had been that long. As soon as got to the fishing spot. My alarms went off telling me I was at 50oz left. First time Ive let it get that low. So return trip I kept in economy mode at about 4k. But yeah I did see 2 mph more with daughter driving
