    Default Attaching straps onto trailer

First, I appreciate the willingness of all the more seasoned anglers and boat owners who help guys like myself, a newbie.I ask a lot of questions but also learn a lot.

I am getting ready to load my boat on to the new trailer and notice it looks like most use a ratchet strap arrangement across the stern area of the boat during transportation. In looking at mine , I really do not see a good place to connect the straps to.

I`m attaching a picture and looking for suggestions.

    Thanks!

If you are not opposed to drilling, you could drill clear through the tubing and install eye bolts like these.

There is also a product called boat buckles, which basically function as a permanent ratchet strap, they bolt to the trailer frame.

I agree. Get some large stainless eye-bolts and drill through the tubing to install. Easy.

I would recommend "boat buckle". You still need to drill the holes but you will thank me later. Not only are the use of straps a good idea but I'm pretty sure it's the law

Couple questions, does your boat have tie down/towing eyes mounted in the transom already? How much if any hang over are you going to have behind bunks and trailer if any. My personal preference is the permanent mount ratchet straps. They have a bracket that has a hole with a bolt to go through it and frame to mount.

Depending on location, you may be able to replace a couple bolts already in the trailer frame with eye bolts, thus not having to drill new holes.

A lot of eye bolts are screwed into back of bunk boards. Going to frame with quick release, ratchets.
    Way to go.
