    Default Transom Drain Hole Plugs?

I have a 2005 Sea Pro sv1900cc bay boat. I am trying to find an option to plug the holes in the back. This boat has been tight as any boat I have ever been around until the last 2 trips where I can now bilge water after an hour or so on the water. I wold like to be able to plug holes to livewells since I suspect I have a leak in that plumbing. The issue I am running into is that no regular plugs seem to work with the "slotted or keyed" holes. All of the holes have extrusions at 12 and 6 oclock that blocks a standard plug from going in and sealing. I assumed a special plug was needed but I cant anything online that even mentions this. Any help would be appreciated.

Could you plug the livewells from the box side? Maybe an expandable automotive freeze plug on the transom intakes?

I could but this would still allow water to enter the drain hole and possibly leak from hose.

The best idea so far would be a rubber beaker stop that I could whittle out and modify.

Looking online, many of the transom fittings have this type of “key or slot”.

Honestly I don’t know since the boat before this had smooth holes and this boat never leaked until recently.

Just understood what you wrote. I think unhooking and plugging from boat side is high risk. You vibrate a plug out and you have a large hole in your boat.

Why not just find what hose or connection is leaking and fix it ?

That's the long term plan. The leak is slow so I wouldnt mind plugging while I'm fishing in the mean time. Plus it would be nice to plug and then fill water in the livewells to see which hose is leaking. I am not even sure I can get to all the hoses in this boat to replace. The back one will only take small contortionist, but the front one may never be fixed unless I want to take the boat apart.

I replaced the live well pump and all the hoses on a old bass tracker....it was not as hard as i thought it would be. un do one end....tie new hose to old hose real good....go to other end... un do it and pull the old one out and new one in.

"G". Thanks again for the reply. I hope its that easy when i go to fix it. Im heading to the coast this weekend for a week and will tackle it when i return. Looking in my front livewell, if you cant uncaulk and unscrew from inside the box, ill never get that one replaced unless i take the console out. The back seems to be accessible from an approximate 18" x 12" bilge hatch.
