I have an electric only lake that I flyfish for monster redear, and that motor pulls me around "OK". I have a 17.5' Aluminum bassboat. So, it may be a stupid question, but if I were to wire it up to operate as a 24v, would that give me more "thrust"? I know it would give me less drain on batteries, but would it pull it faster?

No u will not get more thrust initially, but the amount of thrust will stay higher longer with 24v because battery voltage stays higher longer. Sorry, I hope I'm clear on this.

It will have more thrust and go faster if that's what you want .

If you wire it up to the plug correctly and use the 12/24 switch on motor yes you will have more thrust on the 24 side. Yet you will still have the 12 side for slower speeds. Low 24 will be faster than high 12. And when I said plug I mean dash and motor plug’s. Should take 3 wires.
