    Default Fuel line

Do any of you use automotive fuel injector line on your outboard to tank line? Other than abrasion resistance and USCG approval it should be the same.

    Yeah.

It should not be used in enclosed bilge areas, and it's not very UV resistant. It only lasts a couple years, but at least it is cheap and won't clog up the fuel system like a lot of marine lines.

My thoughts exactly. My choices of available marine lines look a little sub par to me

So, if you were to cover it with one of those flexible sleeves (the kind made for electrical wires) do you think it would then last longer in the sun?

Look around on flea bay and you can find good prices on the Sierra "Above Deck" and Sierra "Below Deck" fuel lines by the foot that will give you the best service and the best measure of safety. I avoid the sets pre made, you just pay more that way. Order what you need and be done with it. I changed all mine out last spring, fuel lines, fill hose, and vent hose. Double clamp per the regs and boat with confidence.

You can beat that price, but it's heading in a better direction.

Another fuel line thought. If changing the whole fuel line...connectors, line, bulb doue it matter what size the you use. My original is 5/16 but 3/8 is more available.

No, as long as it fits the quick connect on the motor and the tank.

Many filters and primers have dual size nipples that will take either, and for the most part you can either clamp down 3/8 on 5/16 fittings, and stretch 5/16 hose over 3/8 fittings if you really needed to.
