Suzuki 4 stroke recommendations
I had started a thread wanting advice on a 4 stroke Yamaha. After not being able to find a good used one I am leaning toward a new Suzuki 115 - 135 HP 4 stroke, or used if someone knows of a good one. I would like to hear your goods and bads relating to Suzuki 4 strokes.

Suzuki makes great motors. I have no problem with them mechanically. I do, however, have a problem with Suzuki USA. First, they think their parts are made of solid gold. A simple starter costs significantly more than a starter from another brand - and aftermarket parts are generally not an option. Second, they have (or at least used to have) a rule that only offical Suzuki dealer mechanics can attend their factory schools. That means no independent mechanics can get proper training. If you couple that with the fact that Suzuki dealers are few and far between makes it hard to get one serviced unless you happen to live in just the right place.

I had a DF 140 no problems, and currently own a DF200 V6 and a DF 9.9 efi (used as a kicker for trolling)I haven't had any problems with ether.

I’ve been shopping for a smaller version and came to the same conclusion as already stated. Dealers are all too far for me to travel, parts are pricey and no smaller shops want to fool with em(their words). I believe they make a good product but if service and repair is going to make me take a day off work because the bigger dealers that will fool with em aren’t open saturdays, it pushes them out of my consideration.
