BOAT PROP QUESTION
2008 stratos 176xt with f60 yamaha.
I'm sure the prop is stock but I need a better hole shot.
Not worried about speed. It ain't fast anyway.
Any suggestions.

Slabin is on the right track. What is your max RPM with an average load? IF you are at the bottom end of your recommended RPM then you need to drop down in pitch. If you are at the top end (near the rev limiter) then you have more to play with in terms of adding cup or going to a 4-blade. I had to go to a 4-blade on an old Aquasport I used to own. It made a huge difference in the hole shot - but I had to drop 2" in pitch to get it done and I sacrificed a couple MPH on the top end.

4 blade for hole shot and staying on plane at lower rpm. 3 blade for more top end speed.
Shift weight to the front as best you can. You can even buy ballast bags to stash in a front compartment to help a bit.

The prop is 11X15
I usually run in the middle around 3200-3600.
Rarely pushing over 5000-5500.
I listen to the engine if you know what I mean.

Hadn't been out in a few months but I think about 6000-6200 depending on load. Maybe alittle higher.

Jay, in my opinion that 60 is at the low limit of HP for that hull. If you can turn 6000 that’s is upper recommended limit for it. So you are propped pretty close for the motor. Smaller prop might get you u a little quicker but speed going to suffer and chance of hurting motor. I’d suggest adding a Hydrofoil to motor to get more stern lift to help it get up quicker.

It has one. I was wondering about 4 blade or a larger 3 blade of same pitch.

Like I said earlier, your max rpms determine what you can do with regards to changing pitch or number of blades. Adding a blade (with diameter staying the same) generally drops your max RPMs by a 200-300 RPMs. So, if your max was already in the low range of your motor's rating then you must drop down in diameter or you'll lug your motor (which will kill it way before its time). On the other hand, if your max RPMs were at the top of the rated range then you can add a blade without changing diameter.
One thing you can do other than change props totally is have a prop shop add some cup to your existing prop. Adding cup ads lift at the price of a little speed.
