I had a similar problem. My trailer was so high off the ground, it was a pain to launch the boat. I ended up replacing the tires/wheels with the ones that come on pontoon trailers. I think there was an 8" difference in height, lowering the trailer 4".

Adding a panel, you would need different spring and different track.

Ouch!! Measure twice, cut once!! Time for a bigger garage or smaller windshield!
I had the same issue for a Toyota Tundra I lifted. Couldn’t get it in and out of the garage. I just aired down the tires to get enough clearance and then re aired. Granted I didn’t use the garage for it very often after that.

Reminds me of the farmer whose mule hit his ears on the header of his barn. He was jacking up the barn to solve the problem when his neighbor happened by and suggested he simply dig out the dirt under the door. The farmer replied, “because his ears are too long, not his legs.
Sorry, couldn’t help myself.

skunked again thanked you for this post
Yet again we see the importance of how the selection process of boat and wife are key BEFORE bringing them home to the house!
As for the boat, perhaps you could put a trailer ball on a swivel wheel...
The other involves great difficulty!

How are your springs\axle mounted on the trailer? If the axle is mounted under the springs, flip it, measure first, to see what you'd gain. You'd also need to verify how that would work with clearance for fenders. If not, which would be cheaper, a different axle, or reworking the garage door header?
600 lb. Heavy Duty Trailer Dolly
As mentioned above, do a search for "trailer dolly". They make powered ones also, they get pricey though.
