Default 2012 F50 Yamaha bent prop shaft

I have a slight wobble in my prop shaft. No vibration yet @wot. I tried to straighten it with a jack. I was able to get it back .7000 but damaged my prop seals in the process. I wanting to replace prop shaft and seals. Any trick or tips on replacing. Will I have to drop the whole foot to replace? I have watched a few videos but really nothing very in depth. I'm thinking this should be a fairly easy fix if I can get the shaft out. Any Tips advice before I tackle this project.

It is easier to remove the whole unit, and put it in a vice with the prop shaft facing the ceiling. The pinion should not need to be removed, so it doesn't have to be, but it's easier to keep track of things in the vice.

Don't pry on the ears of the bearing carrier, they're easy to break off. There should be threaded holes to use a puller. Japanese motors are pretty bad about corrosion, it will probably be a fight. Heat helps.

Get a whole gasket set, as you'll need the O-rings for the bearing carrier, the prop seals, and you may want to go ahead and replace the driveshaft and shift shaft seals as well while it's apart.

Keep track of the shims on each gear, as they need to go back where they came from to keep the gears set properly.

Drain unit oil. Remove bearing carrier and prop shaft. Replace prop shaft seals. Have shaft straightened. Reassemble. And never try to straighten shaft while still in the lower. I straighten quite a few each year. Always on a press with vee blocks and micrometer.
    I'd rather be fishing.
