    Default minn kota electric anchors

have front and back MK electric anchors on my 20 foot pontoon and first season they worked fine but then they both just quit and not much information on them on MK site or on line. Anyone with experience having them and repairing? thanks.

What do you mean when you say they just quit? If they both quit and are doing nothing my first inclination is you have lost power and I suspect if the quit at same time they are wired to same power source together. First thing I would do is start tracing wiring looking for a common connection that could have come loose or a blown fuse. Highly unlikely both would have a mechanical problem at same time.

Everything Cray mentioned. Don’t forget to check the ground also.

If you have a spare battery sitting around, wire it up directly to see if they work. That would be one way. Another way would be to wire a test light to the anchor. If the light comes on then it is the anchor, but it doesn’t rule out switches. Lots of ways to test it, just grab some coffee or cold adult beverage and think about it and look at it. It’s better if you have someone to bounce ideas off.

I have one on my boat that I’ve had for years never really had and issues from it but assume you could call minnkota if it’s not one of the issues the others have mentioned
