    Default Leaky Rivets.

Hi everyone, I recently picked up an old 14' lonestar. She's 66 years old and has some leaky rivets along the side/bottom seams and transom/ floor seam. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Had a similar problem on a buddy's Tracker TX17 ... we temporarily fixed the leaks with Knead-it, and fixed some later leaks with JB Weld, but he eventually had them all welded (Aluminum welded) by a welder at his workplace. Rivets can also be removed and replaced.

I'm sure that if Flex Seal had been around back in those days we'd have probably tried using that, too.

Maybe try holding a hammer on one side and hitting the other. Never tried but seems like it would work

I agree, that will be my first try. I'll mark the leaky areas next test run and give those rivets a little tappy tappy. She doesnt leak much and I can live with it if needed. One cant expect a 55 yr old riveted boat to be perfectly watertight.
