If you are buying/ exchanging the same off brand trigger, you might want to try a different brand. Some of these very inexpensive alternative ignition components are sketchy straight out of the box.
    I'd rather be fishing.

the first one was jetunit and the second one was a CDI unit.

The only thing I can think of is a flywheel magnet. But that would not make sense if that plug is working on the companion cylinder, seems like you wouldn't have any spark on that coil if the magnet was bad.

I have no idea the boat shop is stumped too. I went from loosing 1 3 5 to repairing that and loosing 2. I am looking for a flywheel I guess its about the last thing there is.

well the flywheel did not solve it. I sent the trigger in to CDI and see what they say. I will say that this thing has never started as good as it does now on 5 cylinders.

FIXED finally. I replaced the switchboxes again and it now has spark on all 6 cylinders. I got too caught up on the marine mechanic telling me they were good. CDI tested trigger and it was fine, I am running the original one until i get the new one back. Thanks all that contributed

On a side note, CDI Stators and Rectifiers are first class. My stator died on my 115 Mercury 2 Stroke last year, 1992 original, and since I put the new ones on, man o man, it has never started and run better. Happy happy happy.
CDI is doing great work on quality components, IMHO. Very informative on the phone, too.

Those ignition boxes have to be replaced in pairs.
