If yours isn't giving no alarm. Than it's lower unit or prop.
No sir . it wasn't a miss leading post. I had a 2014, 50 hp. 4 stroke mercury efi. That was giving , me 6 beep alarm . 2014 year model. 6 beep is iac,map or tps. Ok. I replaced manifold air pressure sensor 2 times, I replaced intake air temp
sensor 2 times, I replaced throttle position sensor.
I could but boat in water, crank rite up and run like crazy for 2 miles, then get 6 beeps. Chased this ghost for 6 months. Took to mercury dealer to see if their software was different than ours. He told me voltage high on map sensor. I said ECM sends 5 volts, so how can it be high. Long storie short, termostat was clogged with sand. Motor overheat enought it cooked ECM. I purchased a ECM $650 I think. Took to lake. Guess what alarm I got. BOOM . solid. Overheat. BAMM. Pulled termostat and was full of sand.

mine does that suddenly revving but rarely. have 2011 Mercury 60 HP 4 stroke EFI. I let off for second and then go again and it's all good.
Do you have wash under,prop
All y'all's answers are better than mine. I woulda just said run it at 4800rpm. As far as blinker fluid a 4 stroke don't have that. That's a 2 stroke thing.
