    Default boat seat pedestal problem

Maybe one of you will have an idea. My boat is pretty old and the seat pedestals are just straight aluminum pipes. No bearings or anything. I have to keep them greased to keep down the squeaking and to make them turn ok. What I think would be better is some kind of bearing to go on the bottom of the pedestal so that the seat is riding on it instead of just a raw pipe. But I haven't come up with any ideas. Maybe some company sells something? Any ideas are appreciated.

I have never seen one quite like that. Don’t see how you could use a bearing unless you welded a flange on post then put a thick Teflon washer between it and the base. Think I’d just get some antisense and coat it with that.

Get one of these....bolt it to the square plate that's on the top end of your post....then bolt it to your seat. Your seat will then swivel at the top of the post and you won't have to worry anymore about your post turning. Name: Screenshot_20200611-101403.jpg
