    Default Minn Kota powerdrive noise.

Hey guys I bought a refurbished Minn Kota powerdrive I pilot. After one trip out due to noise it made when turning I took it to the service center. They tried all kinds of stuff and eventually MinnKota set me another refurbished model. it doesn't make as much noise as the old one but it still makes a squealing noise when it turns. Below is a video of the new one. Is this normal? Keep in mind I'm close to it and the phone is picking it up pretty good. The beeping is me hitting the remote.

My Terrova has made same noise since day one. 5 years and has not gotten worse. I just consider it normal for a set of gears under load.

I have a powerdrive and a terrova and the PD definitely makes a louder, different noise when turning, than the Terrova. I do not believe it will hurt anything, just a characteristic of the motor.
