I think you are right, something doesn't seem quite right on that water tube. Seems like it would be next to impossible to get a good seal how it is, and you need one, or you lose most of the water pressure before it ever gets to the power head.

That rubber grommet doesn't go into the water pump housing first, does it? Almost looks like there's a lip in the housing where the water tube goes, that matches a groove in the tube grommet.

I stuffed that middle seal in there the way you would expect it to go. It almost completely filled that hole and the seal had a cold in it. The seal od was bigger than the housing id.

I even called yamaha today to confirm i got the correct part numbers. According to guy i talked to i did. He wasn't able to tell me how they installed though.

That is what my housing is like. The seal doesn't go into it. The bottom seal is inserted from the cup side of the housing. It is brand new in mine.

You have never said compression. Test or how motor actually runs.

Poppet has come up quite a few times. This motor doesn't have one.

Sounds like it runs great anywhere from idle to WOT, but very cold natured.

Runs like a scalded dog. I have two vids of it idling. One at lake and one in the van. I don't know how to get a video on here though.
