    Default Paint gun question

Bought a gun today. Specifically the husky 762003, siphon type. I had intended to get an hvlp.
Will this work for painting a boat (hull, sides, some of the floor) and trailer (top , sides and bottom) ? Or should I get the hvlp?

    Here's a link for it -

FYI - pay attention when you pick a box off the shelf! I didn't, someone put it in he wrong spot, I was in a hurry. Maybe I'll finally learn a lesson, although I doubt it ! ! !
I've never used one before. My compressor is a 20 gallon.

The HVLP would be a better match with your compressor. The siphon guns work fine but require more air

HVLP gravity feed. Doesn’t require as much air pressure. You need pretty high air pressure with a siphon feed to get the paint to flow out right. I’m a painter by trade so if I can help in any way pm me. Good luck.

It is either that, or buy an airless sprayer. Can you regulate/ control the air pressure? That is important too.

It does not mention what size tip the gun has, what type of paint are you going to be using? As mentioned above HVLP does use much less air. But a 20 gallon compressor keeping up with this size spray gun may be very iffy, what is called for for CFM on the HVLP that you are looking at?

S10chevy - yes, the compressor has a control for tool pressure, and a separate gauge for tool pressure.
Bricks- the gun came with two tips , 1.4 & 1.8mm. I plan on using enamel paint for the trailer. If I remember correctly, the compressor has a rating of 4scfm @90psi, the gun says 4scfm @40psi.
The gun says not for use with latex, so I'll stay away from that.

1.4 would work better with enamel. Even if you have to thin it a little.
