    Default Broke my Ulterra!

I broke the shaft on my Ulterra yesterday. Hit my boat trailer trying to load my boat because my trim locked up when my motor was raised all the way up, up in the head of a creek trying to avoid hitting rocks. I'm still sick about it, but more sick about it now because according to their website, they aren't shipping parts for 2 weeks because of the shelter in place order in MN. Good grief. I thought MK was located in Eufaula, AL?? The shaft has a lifetime warranty but I'm really not concerned about that if I can get my hands on a shaft. The list price on one is $159. It would be worth that to me to get back on the water.

Anybody got a guy that could hook a brother up?

On a side note, it took about 10 seconds to "fix" the trim on my motor once I got it on the trailer. I loosened a cap on the trim unit and it started working again. I guess it air locked or something.

I don't know that any of those places will be open for the next 2 weeks with our new non essential business shut down, but I'll call the one in Guntersville. I figure at this time of year they're gonna have a backlog of work too. I'd hate to miss the next month of fishing. I feel certain that I could swap the shaft, if I don't have to have some specialty tools to do it with.

    FYI
My tilt trim has a bleed off screw to bleed air and let the motor down if that happens. Yours might not but you might check and see for future reference.

If that ultera is like a Terrova you cant just replace shaft. Have to replace shaft with motor housing attached. Those shafts are pressed into the housing using a special tool at factory along with a special epoxy. If you could find the shaft it’s pretty simple to replace. Try Jones trolling motor and Northlandmarine. Both offer great service.
