A hydrofoil will help some.
Sorry for all the questions. At 5000 RPM and just a bump of the trim switch my boat starts porpoising at 32 mph. What can I do to help get it up on pad better? 75 hp Optimax with a manual 6" jackplate.

I would start by dropping jack plate about 1/2 inch. What is happening is when you trim out prop is losing bite so it drops hull and gets a bite and starts to lift again. You may have to go up and down 1/4 at a time until you find sweet spot. And I’m just making a assumption since you said it had a pad that this is a glass boat.
It is an aluminum boat. Maybe is what I should have said is higher on plane.

Is a hrydrofoil the same as a whale tail.Sent from my E6810 using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
Big difference, yes a hydrofoil will make a big difference since it is designed to lift rear of boat up and hold it on plain at slower speeds. And they don’t necesserly have to be those great big really expensive ones to get the job done. It would by its self probably gain you a couple mph. But still taking the time to play with jack plate you can probably find a little more performance from that set up. I’d put one on if it was me.

Then I would start with dropping motor down and work from there. Go to lake and leave poles at home just plan on playing around a couple of hours or so. Get you something to measure with and to Mark plate. Just play with adjustment until you find the spot that gives you the best performance.
