Default Trolling Motor Battery Assistance Please!

Hey guys, good morning. I know this has been discussed a thousand times so I apologize. I have read so many forum boards on this issue. I want to ask you trolling pros.

So I will be buying a 45-55 thrust TM in a few weeks. I troll around a medium size lake and sometimes run it full blast for around 2-3 hours to move around the lake.

This is the battery I am looking at for $148.42

    Marine Cranking AMPS 800
    Cold Cranking AMPS 650
    Terminal is Threaded Post SAE/M8
    Weight: 59 lbs

I am also looking at their Duracell Marine Battery charger:

Your thoughts? I am totally new to this.

Here is how the battery size comes into play. 1) locate the amp hour rating on the battery. 2) locate the trolling motor amp draw. 3) divide the battery amp hour by the motor amp draw. 4) this is how long the battery will last on a constant draw on high.

    example:
100 amp hour rated battery / 20 amp draw = 5 hour run time

Look up this battery and see if you have a local location that sells them. They are hard to find but a great battery. Can’t give you pricing because you have to get it from dealer.

I have 3 of those batterys. they work fine. however, I just checked the price on line and they come up as 121....you also get 10 percent off if you order on line and pick up at a store....as for a battery charger, if you are looking for an onboard charger, I only buy minnkota these days..never had a problem..

I have tried twice with batteries plus batteries and twice had to replace right after the warranty expired. From working on battery powered equipment for years, Trojan batteries hold up the best. Just my 2cents

This. It's the same battery for less than $100. I am still a big Deka Marine Master fan made by East Penn, but Duracells are now made by East Penn at a lower price point. The Trojan SCS225 flooded deep cycle has similar specs as the US Batteries that Cray mentioned if you have a golf cart dealer close to you that sells Trojan batteries. Either one of those is a premium flooded deep cycle battery.

The Walmart Everstart Maxx marine batteries are now that same battery. Better price, twice the warranty and easier access for warranty replacement.
