    Default Transducer Spray

I have an issue with my HB Mega SI xdcr causing an excessive ammount of spray. Its actually bad enough I kinda worry about it gitting in the intake on my motor. Everything looks to be correct as far as where it is mounted as far as depth and angle goes. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what was done to correct it.

Unfortunately I'm offshore working and don't have a picture but I do know that it is about a half inch or so above the bottom of the hull.

And its really more of a rooster tail than just spraying everywhere. Just happens that the roostertail isnt straight up, its up and in towards my motor cowling.

The front part needs to be even with the bottom of your hull and drop the back end down about 1?4 to 3/8 of a inch ....Mount it with smooth bottom in front of it...do not mount it behind a strake or a rib. Best position is 8 to 12 inches inward from side....this gives you some distance away from your motor.

I can take a pic of mine tomorrow and show you what I am talking about. I have no spray and it reads good at any speed.

Exactly what i was looking for "G". I'll check it as soon as I get home! It was installed by the dealership a couple years ago so I've really never questioned it being installed properly. Thanks for the info!

If you will check when you get home, in the package that bracket came in should be a little chunk of rubber that is kind of L shaped. In the instructions it talks about inserting this into front of mounting bracket to block the water from getting between hull and mounting bracket to stop that spray.

I'll certainly check that also, maybe they left it out or it has fallen out. I don't think it has always been like this and I'm pretty sure the transducer is tight and hasn't moved, so maybe that bushing has fallen out. Great info, Thanks!
