They make one that can be removed. I used it on my DF knobs because they kept shaking loose while trailering my boat. After finding them on floor of boat I figured I was going to lose one if I didn't figure a way to keep them tight. The removable kind works perfect. You can still loosen if needed but takes a bit more effort.

I was thinking that loctite would cause the rubber sleeves to twist off

They work fine, don't need locktite, used on more than one boat.

I am a Maintenance technician. Most days they expect us to achieve the impossible. On the production floor we have robots, computers everywhere, everything is precisely aligned,. The machines are being made smaller and smaller because floorspace is money. It is enough to drive you nuts at times. Taping nuts and washers to a wrench, taping said wrench to a stick and reaching 2 feet into the bow to put the nuts and washers on, and having no tine limit to get it done. Relaxing.

Those look neat if you have enough meat to grab into and get a purchase. The Other Woman and I had some conversations while I had my hand stuffed into that front panel hole, half full of wires. Like you, got it done.

I have 3/4 plywood between fiberglass as the front deck as best I can tell. This is the second trolling motor I have put on this boat. Mine is loaded with wires also. I need to add a 12v outlet or a usb outlet up front to keep the tablet that I use to link to the downscan charged. I did not put the down imaging back on when I swapped trollers. So I am linked to the side scan on the console and can view it from the tablet
