I keep forgetting about built in tanks. I have only owned 1 boat with a built in tank in my boat career.

Here's how to do it. Cost me a six pack beer bet with my boat mechanic.
Plug hose into tank. Leave other end loose. Stand up in boat and hold hose vertical above the tank and pump bulb. Try to have hose as straight up as possibel. Pump bulb, it will tighten up. The gas pumps through the bulb and because it's straight up it seals against the backflow valve.
I've posted this on here before and it's worked every time.
Some of you guys used it and told me ut worked.
This is when you are replacing bulb and hoses with new. Works on portable tanks, not sure if built-in is different.

Replaced bulb on my built in tank not long after you first posted. Only way I could get it primed. Had remembered your post. Saved me a ton of agrivation.

...and just because you paid a lot for a bulb does not make it good either...
