Default No more carpet for me

I am replacing the wood flooring in my aluminum boat. My plan is to use plywood painted with porch and floor paint. I will add the texturing packets to the paint to make them slip resistant. Has anyone done this before?

I have not heard of anyone using it. I did look into rubberized deck paint. I did decide to go back with carpet to reduce noise

I was keeping the idea in the back of my nogg'in. I was at Bass Pro and saw a couple of Trackers with the gritty paint on aluminum floors. Got to work on wood too I think.

It gets hot, but that only matters if you like to be barefoot.

SeaDek is awesome for bare feet and the #1 alternative to carpet, but it's expensive. There are many knockoff brands, just google "eva foam boat flooring"

I like artcarney_agr's idea. My last boat had vinyl. Cleanup was easy, traction was good, hooks never got stuck. However, much like a bed liner/no slip product, no cushion. If you sit on a seat to fish, your good.
The seadeck, or knockoffs, have some cushion. If I remember correctly, seadeck has three different thicknesses. On their website, you can request a sample packet. They'll send most all of the available colors, in a couple different thicknesses. I requested a sample pack, it seams like decent stuff. I think the thicker stuff would be best, also the most expensive.
Look on tinboats.net, I think there are a few threads about textured floors. Also, look on YouTube, several have sprayed on bed liner on boats.
U-pol raptor liner is one. Can get it in different colors also.
The picture is the sample pack seadeck sent.
I like the two tone, it's quite pricey though. I did find a video of a guy that routed his though .

Also hydro turf. It's like seadeck and comes either with self adhesive 3m backing or you can glue it yourself.
Have it on my duck boat and bowfishing boat. Great stuff

There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.
