Thanks Bricks,
I just cut the fuel line. Very little amount of white slug. The screen looked clean.
Looks like the hose and screen are fairly new. I've only owned the boat for about 3 years. Unfortunately, bought the boat from a widower.

Thanks guys,
I cut the fuel line but very little white slug. Hose and Screen looks fairly new. Unfortunately I bought the boat from a widower almost 3 years ago.
the problem I had was the fuel line has a clear inter tube that was breaking away from the inside if the fuel line you could cut the hose looked good , but when you put the filter back inline and the connecter to the outboard the inside piece would kink up causing a restricted fuel supply !!! causing starting issues and top end issues !!! so what I did was go to a auto store and bought ethanol rated fuel line and replace the bulb problem fixed !!!!
Ok. I'm heading to auto store now..
thanks
here is a picture of what I am talking about !!!!

thanks strmwalker,
I have ordered new fuel line with screen, hose. Will be installing them when they arrive then will give you an update. Thanks for all of your help.
My fuel line and hose didn't look as bad as your. But.... I can eliminate a few more things to get her started.

I agree with strmwalker...those old fuel lines can give you fits.
Ok! So I replaced fuel line, hose, inline filter, bulb, both male and female adapters. Then I was unsuccessful on starting the motor this morning.
I would be pulling my hair out if only I wasn't bald!
Now waiting for starter battery to rechange.
Any other ideas?
Again, thanks in advance.
Draining the carbs right now. A LOT of water. I think I found my problem. Hurray but OUCH! Been pumping for 30 mins and still have dirty gas/water draining.
Sprayed air in every open hole of carburetors. Assembled everything back together.
Still engine will not start... Sprayed some carb cleaner into carburetors a two times. Each engine would turn over like it was going to start for a split second then nothing.
No start.
Now waiting on carburetor kit with float to be shipped.
Any ideas?
